Citizen Advice Bureau service

A local independent charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee and we are a member of the national Citizens Advice service. They were established in 1964 and support people living in the borough of Barnsley. They aim to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and we seek to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives by influencing social policy both locally and nationally. They provide advice and information on a wide range of issues from our town centre premises and also at a range of other locations throughout the borough.

The service is free, confidential, independent and impartial. They will listen to your problem, explain all the options available to you and, where appropriate, support you with the course of action you decide to take. They will not judge you or tell you what you should do. They value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination in all that we do. They respond to an individual’s needs without regard to their age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race or religion.
