Weston Park Cancer Centre is a tertiary centre receiving referrals from cancer multidisciplinary teams, both within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and from external organisations.
We accept referrals for patients with a confirmed diagnosis of cancer who require oncology assessment and/or treatment.
Patients presenting to their GP with a suspicion of cancer should be referred to the appropriate service via Sheffield Teaching Hospitals’ E-RS system as a 2 week wait referral.

To be certain that Sheffield Teaching Hospitals will appear as an option for referral please click on ‘Search All’ and not ‘Search Primary Care’. You should then be able to select a service.
Referrals for treatment or continuation of follow-up (NHS e-Referrals)
You can select either ‘Urgent’ or ‘Routine’ as we treat all referrals as urgent
Select as appropriate for tumour site
Select as appropriate (often this will be ‘oncology – established diagnosis’)

Some of our services require clinical triage and therefore a clinic appointment cannot be booked directly. This includes requests for second opinions. Instead, GPs will be able to refer into a Referral Assessment Service (RAS). A clinician will then triage the request.
Please be assured that all referrals are dealt with quickly and a timely appointment made.
