Referrals are via Rightcare Tel 01226 644575

DVT Referral Route 

Patient presents at GP practice with query DVT

GP carries out:

1. Comprehensive history
2. Comprehensive assessment (including Wells Score_)
3. Clinical examination

Refer to Secondary Care

• Referrals through RightCare Barnsley via telephone: 01226 644575
• 8am – 8pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
• Referrals will be passed to the Medical SDEC

Out of Hours (when RightCare Barnsley closed) refer via A&E and the AMU

Information provided to RightCare when referring:

• Patient background
• Medical history (including recent medical/surgical problems)
• Current risk factors
• Current medication
• Patient mobility

• Clinical Support Group
