Continence and Urology Services service

Referrals to the Community Continence and Urology Service will only be accepted if these are received using the accompanying service referral form.

Referral information received not using the service referral form will be rejected and returned to the referrer.

All completed referral forms and any accompanying information should be emailed to the RightCare Barnsley Integrated Single Point of Access (SPA) using the following email address:-

Primary care colleagues wishing to e-refer via TPP SystmOne into the Community Continence and Urology Service can do so via the e-refer option but please ensure that the contents of the service’s referral form is listed in the ‘Communications and Letters’ section of the patients SystmOne clinical record.

Requests for the following, should be directed to the Community Neighbourhood Nursing Service via the Single Point of Access, these should not be referred to the Community Continence and Urology Service:

Children’s Service Inclusion Criteria

Children must:

Children’s Service Exclusion Criteria

Children under the age of 4 years.

Children requiring continence produces for containment of treatable conditions e.g., nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting) or faecal incontinence due to constipation. * If a child is toilet trained during the day but bedwetting at night, please direct referrals to the School Nursing Team, even if they have additional needs.

General Documentation (NOT REFERRAL RELATED) to the Community Continence and Urology Service

As described, all referral related information / documentation should accompany the referral via an email to the RightCare Barnsley Integrated Single Point of Access (SPA).

Any documentation not relating to a patient’s referral but which is being forwarded to the Community Continence and Urology Service for information, should be sent to the following address:-
