Abnormal LFT - Barnsley Guidelines
Fib 4 calculation -Index for degree of Liver Fibrosis
The Fib 4 calculation will require the following pieces of patient information:-
- patients Age
- AST
- ALT
- platelet count
The Fib 4 will guide referral to secondary care when NILS bloods and liver USS are normal despite abnormal LFTs.
A Fib 4 value>1.3 normally suggests a significant degree of cirrhosis requiring secondary care referral for further assessment.
