BEST October 2014: Paediatrics
Paediatrics
- 6 week Neonatal Examination
- GI problems in Children
- Cow Milk Protein Allergy
- Enuresis Pathway
Guest speakers:
- Dr.Gupta,
- Melanie Siddy,
- Dr.Pai,
- Dr.Sivaramakrishnan
This event commenced with a Quiz on the duration of Upper Respiratory tract Infections.
Dr.Gupta discussed 6 week Neonatal checks, followed by his talk on GI problems in children. More time was spent on reflux rather, however all the constipation content is in his attached slides.
The confusing topic of Cow Milk Protein Allergy in children was discussed by Nerissa, along with a quiz that I organised for the attendees regarding Infant milk Formula tins. Only one table out of 10 managed to place the various milk specimens in the right box! ( see attached table below). CMPA seems to confuse us all.
Finally , the Community Paediatric Team presented an interactive presentation on the Pathway Primary Care that GPs and Nurses should follow on seeing children with Enuresis. The same pathway was later recognised in a national paediatric meeting.
