Resources to help support conversations about cardiovascular disease risk factors; Keeping a Healthy Heart

Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) is still one of the leading causes of premature death and ill health and, is the biggest contributor to health inequalities. There are enhanced efforts to reduce the risk factors particularly high blood pressure as well as the primary risk factors such as smoking, obesity and physical inactivity.
A range of resources have been created in collaboration between the Yorkshire and Humber Public Health England Centre, and the British Heart Foundation, to help conversations about looking after your heart with people at risk of cardio vascular disease. In particular, top tips for community pharmacy which is equally applicable to primary care, a patient leaflet on how to look after your heart combining all the public health messages and sources of support into one leaflet, including an easy read version. And don’t forget, what’s good for the heart is good for the brain.
