Same-Day GP Appointments in Barnsley (When Your Practice Is Full or Closed)
If your GP practice has no same-day appointments available, or if it is closed at weekends or on bank holidays, you can contact iHeart 365 for urgent medical appointments.
Who You Will See
Appointments may be with:
• a General Practitioner (GP)
• an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
• a Physician Associate (PA)
All PA clinics are triaged in advance by a GP, with GP supervision and debriefs throughout the session.

• Monday to Friday: 4:00pm – 6:00pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am – 9:30am
• Bank holidays: 8:00am – 9:30am
You will be offered an appointment at either:
• BHF Lundwood, or
• Chapelfield Medical Centre, Wombwell
Appointments cannot be booked by going directly to these surgeries.

• Monday to Friday: 6:30pm – 10:30pm
• Saturday, Sunday & bank holidays: 9:00am – 5:00pm
What the Service Can Help With
• Assessment and treatment of acute illnesses
What the Service Does Not Provide
• Fit notes (sick notes)
• Routine blood tests
• Direct onward referrals
However, a full consultation report will be sent back to your registered GP practice, including any recommendations for further tests or referrals if needed.
Extended Hours
We offer a number of extended hours appointments for Barnsley patients each day. These appointments can be booked via several different channels.
Blue Clinic
Monday to Friday, 14:30 – 22:30
Each Barnsley GP practice is allocated two appointments per day to offer to their patients. The clinic is staffed by an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) who can assess and treat acute illness.
Please note the following restrictions apply:
- Children under the age of 2 cannot be seen
- Patients requiring support with their mental health cannot be seen
- Pregnancy-related conditions cannot be seen
The clinic does not provide:
- Fit notes
- Onward referrals
- Blood tests or other investigations
However, a comprehensive consultation report is sent back to the patient’s registered GP practice, including details of the assessment and any recommendations for onward referrals or further testing where appropriate.
