Cancer Research UK Facilitator

Survival is more than three times higher when cancer is diagnosed early. The programme is a major part of Cancer Research UK’s ambition to ensure three out of four people have their cancer diagnosed at an early stage.

We support healthcare organisations and professionals to:

  • Provide advice that will help prevent cancer
  • Understand their local cancer data and how the care they provide compares to others
  • Encourage people to take part in screening programmes
  • Recognise the signs of cancer, and refer people appropriately for tests
  • Diagnose people quickly, by having clear ways of accessing tests and enough staff and scanners to deliver results quickly
  • Assisting with the implementation of Risk Assessment Tools and new NICE guidelines
  • Providing templates for audits and assistance with completion and interpretation
  • Working with the CCG to identify local priorities
  • Organising training for clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Safety Netting Training

Our regionally- based facilitators provide face-to-face practical support to health professionals and services across the UK.
