Date: 05 November 2024
Please find attached details of upcoming Safeguarding Training:
- On Monday 18 November we have a workshop on Self-Neglect and Unpaid Carers – essentially considering the impact of people refusing help and what this means for people who are trying to support them and may be family or friends. We will look at learning from safeguarding adult reviews and good practice. (this workshop will be on Teams)
- On Thursday the 21 November we have two workshops
What Reviews have told us about Practice – this is workshop looking at Learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Reviews conducted after people take their own lives, die as a result of drugs, safeguarding children and domestic homicide. We will look at common themes across all reviews. (this workshop will be in the reception rooms at the Town Hall) - We will be conducting a workshop looking at our Decision Support Guidance and how this can be used to identify when workers should raise safeguarding concerns or follow a different mechanism to raise concerns for someone. This session is open to anyone, but the case studies we will be using will mainly be directed at care providers (home care and residential). (this workshop will be in the reception rooms at the Town Hall)
- On Friday the 22 November we will be hosting a workshop from South Yorkshire Police on Frauds and Scams. (this workshop will be in the reception rooms at the Town Hall)
All workshops are free, but we will charge people £50 if they book a place and don’t turn up (or cancel giving at least 1 working days notice).
All workshops can be booked on by emailing sabtraining@barnsley.gov.uk
