2WW referral patient video patient information sheet
A new information video for urgent 2 week wait cancer referrals is now available to share with patients via the CtheSigns dashboard.
The 5 minute video by South Yorkshire GP, Dr Ben Allen, highlights the reasons for the 2ww referral and aims to alleviate any anxieties patients and their families may be facing after receiving an urgent hospital referral.
Dr Ben Allen discusses the need to rule out cancer as a possible cause of worrying symptoms. Around 90% of patients who attend a 2ww appointments in South Yorkshire ultimately do not have cancer, but the video emphasises the importance of ruling out cancer or finding cancer early to improve outcomes.
The video can be shared with patients via CtheSigns for them to watch in their own time after a referral to the hospital has been made. See the video here and share with patients via the CtheSigns dashboard.
