Infection Prevention and Control

Guidance on Obtaining Health Protection Advice and Reporting Infectious Diseases from UKHSA

SYICB are aware there has been some confusion regarding how to obtain health protection advice from UKHSA and report notifiable infectious diseases during out of hours. The UKHSA Y&H health protection team provide specialist support to prevent and reduce the impact of infectious diseases, chemical and radiation hazards and major emergencies.

The Y&H HPT have a designated out of hours contact number for health professionals requesting urgent advice: 0300 303 0234. In hours, they can be contacted via telephone (0300 303 0234) or email yorkshirehumberhpt@ukhsa.gov.uk.
