Survey for GPs Safeguarding Adults Training Needs

Date: 20 May 2021

Dear All,

As some of you may remember from the BEST Event on Wednesday the 19 May, Barnsley Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB) are keen to understand the safeguarding training needs of GPs and people working within GP surgeries.

We are currently developing a safeguarding training programme that is based around supporting people to understand the basics of safeguarding, but also looking to support people to develop knowledge and skills around specific topics such as self-neglect and hoarding, scams and financial abuse, county lines, cuckooing and domestic violence. We are keen that training is delivered in a range of formats, so there are also questions about the methods of delivery that would be most useful.

The survey also includes whether practices might be interested in developing the skills and knowledge of any of their workers to be able to offer basic safeguarding training within their own practice, and act as a Safeguarding Champion to their colleagues. This would be with the support of BSAB’s Multi-Agency Trainer.

We have created a short survey to ask about the topics that you feel that you would like further training and support around, and the methods of that delivery that might be useful. The survey should only take a couple of minutes to complete. The results from the survey will contribute to the development of a safeguarding adults training plan that will be delivered throughout the year and beyond.

The survey can be accessed here.

We will keep the survey open until the 4 June 2020 for any responses.

Many thanks, Jonathan

Jonathan Douglass
