Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Medicines Information: 01226 432857

The Medicines Information Service answers a variety of queries from healthcare professionals within the hospital and from the local healthcare community, in addition to members of the public.

These queries range from simple to complex and include providing advice on drug doses, administration, mode of action, storage of medication, side effects and drug interactions, safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding, unlicensed medications etc.

Answers to simple enquiries can often be provided in less than an hour, although more complex queries requiring extensive information searches may take several days.

If your query cannot be answered the same day you will be informed when you can expect an answer.

Please note we do not deal with poisoning enquiries. You will need to contact the UK National Poisons Information Service on 0870 600 6266.
