South Yorkshire Eating Disorder Association - SYEDA service

The service offers support services including:

  • Talking therapies such as counselling and CBT
  • One-to-one befriending support
  • Monthly support groups and discussion groups (dates on website)
  • Library offering information and self-help books.
  • Practical support including meal-planning and help towards other personal goals
  • Workshops on topics such as Understanding Eating Disorders, self-esteem and body image.
  • Support for families and friends including workshops, one-to-one support and a support group

Referral guidelines

  • Support groups are drop-in and open to anyone and service users don’t need an appointment.
  • We work on a self-referral format – Anybody who feels that they need help to manage their relationship with food can refer themselves to us. The Client self referral form and the Carers self referral form is available on our website as well as the link below.
