In this session, topics around Sexual Health , HIV , Domestic Abuse and Cervical screening were covered .

In terms of sexual health , we were informed about the various Sexual Health/ HIV/ contraception and STI services provided by the various clinics. The investigation, management and new developments in Sexually transmitted infections was covered.

The Domestic Abuse presentation explored the different types of abuse other than physical abuse and discussed the extensive service provided by "Pathways" in Barnsley for Victims of domestic Abuse, including services for women, men, teenagers and children who have been affected by domestic abuse at home. The DASH (Domestic Abuse, Stalking, Sexual Harassment and Honour based Violence) form was discussed.

The Cervical Screening talk reviewed risk factors and protecting factors from cervical cancer . Interestingly, carrots were a protective factor. Dr.Morris shared with us the different e learning modules that would assist Cervical Sample Takers to stay certified.

Marie Hoyle showed a clip regarding the need for health care professionals to be sensitive to the needs of the Barnsley LGBT community and knowing where to refer patients to if further help is needed.
