Sexually Transmitted Infections & HIV- Dr.Sylvia Bates
Dr.Bates informed us of the various Sexual Health/ HIV/ contraception and STI services provided by the various clinics ie Gateway Clinic, the hospital and Spectrum CIC. The investigation, management and new developments in Sexually transmitted infections was also covered .
The various stages in HIV was reviewed as was the interesting dilemma regarding level of consent required before taking a blood test for HIV testing.
